Use music in the classroom. Find ways to include some of your favorite music in class. You can play a song during transitions and let it double as a motivating timer for students, play acoustic versions of your favorites during work time, or include the songs themselves as part of a relevant mini-lesson.
- Smell some essential oil for a quick pick-me-up. Find an oil or two that lift your spirits and bring you joy. You can wear them in a diffuser around your neck or simply take a whiff when you need an extra boost. Just make sure to keep them out of reach of students!
- Track the good things. Take two minutes each day to list three good things that happened. This easy way to redirect your focus to the “good stuff” can go a long way in improving not only your mood, but that of those around you!
